The aim of the Foundation is to "Help Tibetans to remain Tibetans". In order to achieve this, the Foundation has established several activities:
Financial Adoption System
Through regular monthly contributions you will be able, through the Foundation, to offer a Tibetan child a future in one of the Tibetan Children’s Villages and thereby provide him or her with a decent upbringing and a good education.
Fundraising for project support
The Foundation supports projects, such as the building of schools, provision of learning materials, assistance with building (part of) the new Children’s villages and improving medical care.
Tibetan Learning Chest
The Foundation has put together a so-called Tibetan Learning Chest that consists of a workbook as well as Tibetan artefacts that may be used in supporting lessons about Tibet in Dutch primary schools.
Film “Tashi Delek, Zompa!” (“Hello, Zompa!”)
The Foundation commissioned the film “Tashi Delek, Zompa.” This 20-minute film provides the viewer with images of the life of 5-year old Zompa, who grows up in one of the Children’s Villages. The video or dvd costs € 9 and may be ordered by transferring € 11.50 (including € 2.50 package/postage costs) to the Foundation’s account pg 5327006, mentioning “Zompa.”
Attending events and meetings
Whenever possible, the Foundation is represented at national meetings and events about Tibet, such as – amongst other events - the Dalai Lama’s visit to the Netherlands in September 1999.
Organise meetings
The Foundation organises meetings and events for her sponsors and for those who are interested.
Examples are the 5 yearly commemoration meetings (the last time in November 2008), wine tasting (September 2003) and a theme-meeting on education (November 2002).
Newsletter Tibet-Nieuws
We bring out a newsletter Tibet-Nieuws, approximately 3x per annum. It is in Dutch only. We refer to the Dutch site (for photgraphes etc).
